A common question for people interested in improving their professional or personal lives is, ‘what is coaching?’
Let me explain what, in my opinion, this service is…
The definition of coaching
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a “Coach” is “someone whose job is to teach people to improve at a sport, skill, or school subject”. That is a good definition, but modern-day coaches have expanded the horizon. Coaching as a service is no longer limited just to athletes, fitness or students. There are coaches specialized in various genres, the most popular ones being life coaching, executive coaching and leadership coaching. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”Coaching at Lunar
At Lunar Coaching, coaching with me means entering a co-creating relationship where we work TOGETHER to not only improve certain issues in your personal development process and/or relationships but also mastering the means and tools to sustain a lifestyle that is constantly evolving and fulfilling. To break it down more specifically: Personal Development involves what you are doing in your career, business and spirituality. My clients often start working with me when they want to change their jobs, advance to a higher position, enter entrepreneurship and/or become more curious about their life purposes.Common questions and statement my clients have when they become a coachee
“Is this the right job for me?” “I want to be my own boss!” “There’s something else in this life. It can’t be just this, right?” “What is my purpose on this earth at this specific time and era?” One of my life purposes is to help my clients raise their consciousnesses, so they can enjoy their everyday lives with more ease and happiness! Relationships are, ultimately, the reasons why we are here. We are in limitless relations with all things and all beings, some known and some unknown to us. The most important relationship? The one with ourselves. You are never truly happy unless you are happy with who you are. A lot of conflicts and dramas we are experiencing in the workplace or at home, often root deeply in self-acceptance (or the lack of it). Some of my clients, when we started to work together, often carried a notion of “giving it up…” “We should get a divorce!” “I hate the way he/she treats me.” “I will never find someone that loves me.” However, at Lunar I help you to re-direct the spotlight inward and gradually reintroduces them to themselves. From there, we then explore how we mend or build relationships around us. Just like one of my favourite Rumi quotes says:“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”
